Solo Vehicle Accident Stops Traffic on Highway 18

At 11:02 a.m. on May 22nd, 2018, the California Highway Patrol received reports of a solo vehicle accident on Highway 18 near the 4000 foot level.

CHP reports indicate that a man any woman were outside of the vehicle directing traffic shortly after the crash. The crashed vehicle came to rest on the right shoulder.

At at 11:12 a.m., the CHP dispatched Mountain Auto Service to clear the accident scene. Upon the tow truck’s arrival at 11:35, the unit on scene reportedly ran a break on Highway 18. This was to stop traffic and allow the tow truck driver to recover the vehicle.
