Snow Valley Update February 21st, 2019

From a Snow Valley press release:

When I hiked up the mountain at 10: 30am this morning and measured the snow, we had received 16-22 inches. Since then it has been snowing hard and we’ve received another 10-12 inches for a total of 26-34 inches from the current storm with more snow showers expected into this evening. A winter storm warning remains in effect through 1am Friday morning.

While the snow is fantastic news, I have to share some undesirable news as well. We will not be open this weekend. This storm has stopped repair work on the road for the time being. I know this is the news nobody wants to hear, but the good news is twofold. We will have plenty of snow and expect to be open until at least Easter Sunday, April 21 and we will remain open into May if conditions permit and there is enough skier/snowboarder interest. Once we reopen there will be plenty of time to enjoy the snow. The second part is some new options to enjoy winter fun elsewhere while we’re not operating.

Snow Valley Snow Pass (season pass):
Snow Valley Snow Pass (season passholders) may enjoy the following options:

1. Mountain High will accept our season passes daily until we reopen. Please visit any ticket window to receive your lift ticket.
2. SkyPark at Santa’s Village: Present your Snow Valley Snow Pass at Admissions for free entry until we reopen.

Snow Valley 4 Pack or 6 Pack Ticket Holders:
As a reminder, 4 Packs and 6 Packs are valid any day this season and are not refundable, but we do have a solution for those wishing to enjoy the snow this weekend thanks to our friends at Mountain High.

Mountain High Resort in Wrightwood will honor Snow Valley 4 and 6 Pack tickets between Friday, February 22 and Monday, February 25, 2019. Ticket holders/purchasers must email orders@snow-valley.com by 9pm the night before their anticipated visit to Mountain High and should include the purchaser’s name and order ID#. An confirmation email will be sent once processed by Snow Valley with details on redeeming tickets at Mountain High. All tickets must be picked up and used the same day and Mountain High will issue an 8 hour ticket for each ticket redeemed. If you are in possession of unused 4 or 6 Pack tickets already issued by Snow Valley, you must still email orders@snow-valley.com and present unused tickets at Mountain High.

Snow-Valley.com Orders (Excluding 4 Packs and 6 Packs):
Tickets or lessons purchased for specific days while we are closed will automatically be refunded and one complimentary voucher per ticket or package will be mailed as a good will gesture. Please allow multiple days for refunds to be processed due to a high number of orders we are refunding.

Other Vendors (Liftopia, GetSkiTickets.com, etc)
All vendors are aware of our current situation and should be offering refunds. If you encounter any issues, please contact me directly via email for assistance (ksomes@snow-valley.com)

As a reminder, this road closure is mandated by a governmental agency and the decision to close Highway 18 is not a decision in my hands. We appreciate our friends at Caltrans and they are working to get the road open as soon as possible.

Thank you for your continued support of Snow Valley.
