Single Vehicle Rollover, Highway 18 below Upper Waterman

At 6:21 p.m. the California Highway Patrol received reports of a single-vehicle accident that occurred on Highway 18. The location given was at upper Waterman Canyon. The actual location of the accident was at mile marker 11 which is approximately 3 miles below Upper Waterman. This caused a bit of an extended response time as this is not CHP’s area and it had to be transferred to the San Bernardino Police Department.

San Bernardino County Fire Department and US Forest Service fire responded to the scene. When they arrived they found a single vehicle rollover with four occupants who had self-extricated from the vehicle.

Officials at the scene indicated that speed may have been a factor. None of the occupants were injured or transported. Armada Towing from San Bernardino recovered the vehicle and cleaned up the scene. Highway 18 was briefly closed while the vehicle was recovered.
