As brisk winds and thick fog blew through the parking lot at Rim High School, the Rim High School Choir and Orchestra warmed the hearts of parents and locals as they attended the Winter Concert on Friday. It was a full house as the teenage soloists, choir and strings performed Christmas classics and other winter songs.

The Concert Choir opened the show by performing “Behold that Star” and “Throw the Yule Log” followed with solo performances by Katie Mashburn and Emily Pearson. The Madrigals sang “Carol of the Bells” and the “White Winter Hymnal.” A splendid rendition of “Santa Baby” was sang by Melanie Hoflich followed by Analise Phillips singing, “Do You Have Room”.

The Orchestra then took the stage and performed three songs, “Santa Plays the Viola”, “Boreas” and rocked the house with “Three Minute Nutcracker,” a condensed version of songs from the popular play.

Kevin Enriquez, the Music Director, then invited the entire audience to stand and sing along as the Strings and the entire Choir led everybody in “Adeste Fidelis,” also known as “O come all Ye Faithful” to close out the concert.

Refreshments and snacks were enjoyed by the attendees afterwards as they socialized and presented the singers and performers with flowers and took pictures.
