From a Bear Valley Unified School District Message to Parents:
Important message to parents with students at Big Bear Elementary. Unfortunately, the electricity at BBES is not working. Currently, there is natural light and the water is working. Due to this situation, students will be placed on school buses and transported to Big Bear Middle Schoolat 9:20 this morning. Students transported to BBMS will spend their day in warm classrooms with engaging teachers doing fun and exciting activities.
Because this is a minimum day, you may pick up your student at BBMS office at 1:00 pm. If your student usually rides the bus home, they will ride the bus as usual for a minimum day.
Should you desire to pick up your student prior to them bring transported to BBMS, please arrive at BBES no later than 9:10 am. Otherwise, you may pick up your student from BBMS.
With the electricity out at BBES, the phones are not working. If you have any questions, please call the district office at 866- 4631. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
