At 3:53 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4th, calls went into 911 dispatchers with witnesses describing a rollover accident on Lake Gregory Drive in Crestline. The callers stated that the vehicle seemed to drift off the road and hit a tree before rolling over. A piece of the tree was stuck in the car and the occupants, a male driver and female passenger, appeared to be trapped inside. People on scene helped the passenger out from the vehicle, while the driver was able to remove himself.

The traffic on Lake Gregory Drive was temporarily stopped in both directions. One of the passengers was transported to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries. Medic Engine 25 was on scene, as well as California Highway Patrol officers. The collision completely blocked one lane of traffic, so CHP officers directed traffic, alternating lanes to avoid congestion. Tow trucks arrived to transport the vehicles. At approximately 5:10 p.m., Lake Gregory Drive was completely reopened, and the scene was cleared.
