At 1:00 p.m. on September 28, 2019, 911 dispatch received multiple calls reporting two vehicles involved in an accident on Big Bear Boulevard at China Garden in Big Bear Lake. A black Subaru with two occupants was broadsided by a blue pickup truck while making a left turn from Big Bear Boulevard.
Medic Engine 282 and Medic Ambulance 282 – Big Bear City arrived on scene. The driver of the Subaru was transported to Bear Valley Hospital with minor injuries. The driver’s son, a minor, was not injured. The driver of the pickup was given a sobriety test on scene and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. San Bernardino County Sheriff, Big Bear Station is conducting the investigation.
