At 1:04 PM on July25th a solo vehicle launched off the roadway approximately 40 feet into a tree on Baldwin Lake Rd and Kappa in Baldwin Lake. Medics from Big Bear City and Sugarloaf arrived on scene to find the reporting party only who stated a female ran from the scene of the crash. California Highway Patrol called for Air Support and was unable to locate any patient. Department of Fish And game was also in the area for back up and found the Patient on Highway 18 at the Top of Johnsons Grade. The officer made contact with the suspect. The suspect then tried leaving the scene again. California Highway Patrol conducted a sobriety test on scene. The female patient fought with officers before being taken into custody. While enroute to the hospital the patient started breaking things in the back of the patrol car and injuring herself further. Medics were called to the scene and the patient was transported to the hospital. An investigation is on going and we have nothing further on this incident at this time.
