Motorists Extinguish Brush Fire On Highway 18 Above Upper Waterman

At 1:57 p.m. on 5/6/18 the California Highway Patrol recieved multiple reports of a brush fire on highway 18 above Upper Waterman Canyon Road. Emergency response crews were immediately dispatched.

Concurrently, motorists at the scene used fire extinguishers and shovels to fight the fire and eventually fully extinguish it.

This was a second fire reported at almost the same time. The first fire that was also extinguished was just north of Wildwood park on highway 18.

Motorists are reminded to be vigilant and watchful. Report any suspicious activity to authorities.

  1. The flames were reaching 6 foot tall . Approximately 35 foot long 10 foot wide . And starting to grow strength second by second ! Arrived on site with the brand new UL approved hi tech futuristic fire extinguisher . Which worked perfectly to put out this dramatic hot fire !
