Motorcycle Rider Rescued After Being Pinned Under Vehicle After Crash

At 7:34 pm on Monday night, multiple calls went into 911 reporting a motorcycle vs. vehicle accident. The location given was near Mile Marker 24 on Highway 38 near Angelus Oaks.

A full response was requested. Medics arrived on scene to find the motorcycle rider underneath the vehicle. At 8:31, Medics were able to lift the vehicle off the rider and get him to a waiting ambulance. The rider was stuck under the front of the vehicle for almost an hour.

Medic Ambulance 282 transported the patient to Jenks Lake where H285 was going to land. H285 did not have enough room to land and requested the ambulance travel to the Angelus Oaks helipad. H285 attempted to land again and had to abort due to heavy dust. Medic Ambulance 282 then transported the patient to Loma Linda University Medical Center.

According to witness statements obtained at the scene, the motorcycle was reportedly traveling down bound Highway 38. For unknown reasons, the rider lost control of the motorcycle and ended up sliding across highway, landing in the upbound lanes. The Toyota was traveling upbound and reportedly struck the rider and ended up pinning him under the front of the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle suffered minor injuries and declined medical aid and transport. Both the driver and passenger were visibly shaken up. Cal’s Auto Repair & Towing arrived on scene to recover both the vehicle and motorcycle.

The rider suffered major injuries as a result of the accident. The Californja Highway Patrol will be investigating the accident. We will provide more details as they become available.
