Video Report:

At 6:22 p.m. on Sunday evening, the California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County Fire units responded to reports of a solo vehicle accident on Highway 18. The location given on the 911 call was at the Lake Gregory stop light and the caller indicated the vehicle had driven over the side of Highway 18.

CHP officers and firefighters arrived on the scene to find the vehicle, a blue Ford F-150, approximately 30 ft over the side in the bushes, barely visible from the roadway.

A statement made at the scene indicated the driver was reportedly driving southbound on Highway 18. For unknown reasons, he then made an unsafe lane change, causing his vehicle to lose control and go over the side.

The driver did not sustain any major injuries but was transported to the hospital. Don’s Garage responded from Running Springs with two tow trucks, one to winch the vehicle back up to the roadway and a second to tow the vehicle back to the yard. The cause of this accident is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
