Locals help put out fire in Fawnskin

Joshua Gordon and Aaron Gordon residents of Fawnskin were driving on Highway 38 East of Big Bear Discovery center when they noticed flames coming from a tree stump in Forest Land. They immediately called 911 and tried to knock down the fire. The call went into disbatch at 7:12 PM on December 29th. Fire fighters from Station 96 San Bernardino County Fire (Fawnskin station) arrived on scene and could handle the stump fire and cancelled all incoming units. It appears the tree stump caught fire while snow players in the area used a bbq or other warming source on and around the tree stump. Fire personal was able to knock down the fire quickly. Great job by locals being vigilant to areas surrounding their home and taking the necessary steps to prevent further spread.
