Around 4:45 p.m., emergency crews responded to a reported smell of smoke after a lightning storm in Crestline.
Crews checked the area between 138 and Old Mill and the Valley of Enchantment. Forest Service, Cal Fire, San Bernardino County Fire units all responded.
When crews first arrived onscene, there was a smell of smoke in the area. Fire engines checked the off-road areas in the forest and dispatched Sheriff helicopter 40King.
At 5:41 p.m., all units were released from the scene. After hand crews checked the forest and helicopters looked overhead, nothing was found.
