May 19th saw the Lake Gregory Yacht Club at their new temporary location by the Crest Forest Seniors Center, hosting their first lake Regatta of 2018. Ten skippers, including Skippers from several other Yacht Clubs located throughout Southern California, competed in 2 RC classes (V32 and Nirvana) over 8 heats.
the V32 Class were:
First Place – Dennis Sharp, Lake Gregory Yacht Club
Second Place – Carol Sharp, Lake Gregory Yacht Club
Third Place – Rick Dinon, Lake Gregory Yacht Club
Winners in the Nirvana Class:
First Place – Keith Ives, Alamitos Bay Yacht Club
Second Place – Damon Kunkle, Alamitos Bay Yacht Club
Third Place –Themis Glatman, Santa Monica Windjammers Yacht Club
This Annual Regatta is sponsored by Southern California Yachting Association which is the umbrella organization of 95 yacht and boating clubs in Arizona, Southern California and Nevada, providing support and promotion of amateur and recreational boating. Website: SCYA.org

Lake Gregory Yacht Club (LGYC) exists to enable mountain families to share social and boating-related experiences. LGYC is primarily a social organization with philanthropic aspects. The club was formed in 2004 by five Crestline residents and has grown to a membership of eighty residing both on the mountain and throughout southern California.
