Kdog’s Road Report, 5/4/18

Beam me up, Scottie!

Easy as they’ll be this millennium the roads are, even if riding solo to your jabba you are. If you don’t drive, it’s still an ease ewok. No storms, no troopers (speeders need not worry), no snow walkers (chain conditions are no longer R2…. D2), and by the time you read this, the reys of sun will be out and the darthness gone. The Inland Empire (THAT one was easy) is dry… anyone who says otherwise is falcon crazy.

Don’t forget that tomorrow is Cinco de Mayo. This is the Mexican holiday celebrating the the sinking of Columbus’ ship, the Mayo. The Spanish thus lost the Spanish- Mexican war, which is why in Mexico today they still speak their native language, Mexican. The Mexicans then developed a poison called, “Tequila,” which they tout as a “beverage,” but, really, it’s just revenge on Spain, and the rest of the world, for the war. On Cinco de Mayo, it’s now traditional to consume this tequila… and, the next morning, to celebrate, “Sicko de Mayo.”

Oh, han you may have guessed, today is Star Wars day… you know: “May the Fourth… be with you?” Sorry about the opening line of this post, though… with today as Star Wars day, Star Wars nerds are out in… uhhh…. force… making sure that Star Wars day is celebrated properly. Nothing— NOTHING— will get a Star Wars nerd’s pimples pulsing better than a Star Trek reference… they’ll be sithing with rage, and probably won’t read this post far enough to see my real intent! I hope they don’t strike back as revenge… that could be a menace.

(Random local trivia: The name of, “Captain Phasma” (a character in TWO of the series’ installments) is a nod to one of J. J. Abrams’ all- time favorite movies, “Phantasm.” Crestline resident Reggie Bannister stars in all five of the “Phantasm” movies!)

You don’t need to pay me for this great intel today, either: You Kenobi one… or just say, “Hey, Kdog… Yoda man!”
