At approximately 1:11 p.m., the California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a hit-and-run accident on the corner of Highway 189 and Alpine spur in Twin Peaks. The victim , driving in a white Audi, was traveling eastbound on Highway 189 in Twin Peaks. The suspect vehicle was traveling southbound on Highway Spur when it ran the stop sign and collided with the Audi.
The victim driving the Audi pleaded with the suspect to stay at the scene but the suspect fled eastbound on Highway 189.
the 18 year old local male driver of the Audi was not injured during the accident but the Audi was rendered undrivable. California Highway Patrol units were immediately dispatched to chase the suspect vehicle which proceeded eastbound on Highway 189. This accident is currently under investigation.
