Heavy traffic delays extended after a two-car accident occurs on Highway 18

A two vehicle traffic collison ended with one vehicle on its side on Highway 18 mile near mile marker 63. This is on a section of the highway between Lucerne Valley and Big Bear just below Cactus Flats.

On a already heavy traffic day the accident caused a major back up lasting over a hour. At 11:18 am on February 18, 2019 a call went into 911 reporting that a vehicle had over turned.

Units from San Bernardino county Fire Station 8 arrived on scene along with California Highway Patrol.

The extent of the injuries is unknown at this time. Big Bear Tow had two tow trucks on scene to recover the vehicles and clean the roadway. The cause for the accident in under investigation at this time.
