This week’s fishing report is sponsored by Lake Gregory Recreation

Local Lake Reports

Big Bear Lake:

The bite is still going off at Big Bear. With the recent trout plants, anglers have been doing well from boat and shore. With the warmer weather fish are going to go deep. Boat anglers continue to do well trolling lures or using slip bobbers with nightcrawlers at different depths. Shore anglers are still hooking up along the North shore by dam and by the Observatory. Power bait and inflated nightcrawlers on Carolina rig with heavier weight and long leaders to get you out deep will get the job done. Early morning is the best time to fish.

Green Valley Lake:

Decent fishing at Green Valley Lake. With a fresh stock of 450 lbs. of rainbow trout dumped in on Thursday July 11th the bite should continue to be good. Mini jigs, spoons and spinners have been working well. Hot spots are on either side of dam as well as both points. For bait and wait Berkley mice tails and power bait on Carolina rig will get you bit. Early morning is the best time to fish.

Arrowbear Lake:

No reports of recent stock, but there should be a few trout swimming around still.

Lake Gregory:

Decent bite still going off at Gregory. Anglers have been doing well in front of senior center in baseball field cove or by dam. Mini jigs and spinners have been working well. For bait and wait try using Berkley orange micetails on Carolina rig. Early morning or evening is the best times to fish.

Silverwood Lake:

Bite is decent with a few being caught in the early morning in Cleghorn and Miller canyon on mini jigs and spinners. If you put in some foot work you’ll be able to track some trout down.

Catch of the Week

This weeks catch of the week is Mountain top anglers member with a nice stocker rainbow trout caught at Green Valley Lake by the dam.
