At 2:50pm, multiple calls to 911 were reporting a structure fire in Lake Arrowhead. The incident took place near Cedar on the 300 block of Hemlock in the Palisades neighborhood of Cedar Glen. The smoke was visible from all over the mountain. Fire crews responded and arrived at 2:57 pm. The first units onscene reported two fully involved structures with fire spreading into the vegetation. San Bernardino County Fire, CalFire and US Forest Service Fire sent a total of 10 engine companies to fight the fire.

At one point a loud explosion was heard and a fireball engulfed the backyard on one of the homes. A propane tank on a backyard barbecue grill exploded. At one point, firefighters were pulled from the of the houses amidst fears of a structural collapse. The fire was fully extinguished a little over an hour and a half from the time it was reported. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and nobody was in either home at the time. It is unknown if any firefighters were injured during the firefight.
