At approximately 2:15 pm, reports went into 911 of a solo vehicle accident over the side in Running Springs.
The location reported was over the side of 18 between Soutar Drive and Running Springs School Road. Initial reports indicated that the vehicle had hit a tree and that the driver was trapped. CHP, Running Springs Fire, San Bernardino County Fire responded with a huge presence. Ultimately it was determined to be a fatal accident by officials at the scene. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
