Edison crews were hard at work swapping out old underground electrical transformers on Lake Drive and replacing them with new transformers.

The work left many businesses without power in Friday, leaving them unable to open. They remained closed for most of the day including the two fast food franchises McDonald’s and Subway. Goodwin’s Market continued to conduct business as usual thanks to their backup generator.

The power was eventually restored to most businesses around 3:00 pm, with the exception of the Crestline Cafe and Crestline Post Office. Postal customers were left to use flashlights and cell phone lighting in order to locate the key holes to their PO Boxes while picking up mail. Edison stated that the power was not expected to be fully restored until the work was completed.
