On October, 5th at 4:38 PM a call went into Chp Dispatch reporting a solo vehicle that went over the side on Rainbow and Highway173. Medics were requested from San Bernardino County station 91. Reporting party stated the vehicle was driving reckless and at High Speeds Prior to crashing. A silver sedan was Traveling on Highway 173 when the driver lost control collided with a fire hydrant then into a tree. Both occupants appeared to be uninjured. California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash. The driver was transported by chp to a near by hospital it is unclear if the driver was arrested for driving under the influence. Mountain Auto Recovered the Vehicle. The Water Department was also notified to check hydrant, no water was leaking at the time of the incident.
