Driver Detained After Three-Vehicle Accident Thursday in Big Bear

At 6:20 p.m. in Thursday, September 19th, a traffic collision involving three vehiles occurred just west of Stanfield Cutoff on Big Bear Boulevard. A red Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Big Bear Boulevard when the driver slammed on her breaks, causing a chain reaction. A white Ford Explorer rear-ended the red Ford truck, and then a Chrysler rear-ended the Explorer.

The red Ford F-150 sustained minor damage, while the other two vehicles involved suffered moderate damage. The driver of the red Ford truck was given a sobriety test and was detained at the scene under suspicion of being under the influence.

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is conducting an investigation into the cause of the incident. Medic Truck 281 arrived on scene, but all occupants of the vehicles involved declined medical treatment. The red Ford F-150 was left in the parking lot at the scene, and the other two vehicles were able to be driven away.
