Driver Avoids Coyote and Rolls Vehicle

At 7:55 PM a caller reported a solo vehicle roll over just East Of Snow Valley. A silver Toyota was reportedly driving erratic prior to rolling the vehicle three times before coming to rest on its wheels.Medics from Running Springs Fire and San Bernardino County Fire Station 96 Staged out of the area while California Highway Patrol assessed the situation. The reporting party claimed the driver was acting very strange after the accident. Protocol for the fire department is to stage out of the area until law enforcement clears them to enter. Highway patrol conducted a field sobriety test on scene. The driver was not arrested. The driver stated he was driving east bound Highway 18 when a Coyote ran across the road causing him to swerve to avoid hitting the animal and lost control. The driver declined transport. Highway 18 was closed for a short period while Don’s auto recovered the vehicle. The cause of the crash will be investigated by California Highway Patrol.
