Downed Lines in Crestline Sparks Small Spot Fire, Causes Power Outage

At 9:11 p.m., 911 dispatchers began receiving calls reporting a vegetation fire at Geneva and Lake Gregory Drive in Crestline. San Bernardino County Fire Brush Engine 25 arrived on scene to find that a tree had fallen over and pulled some power lines down. This sparked a 1 by 1 spot fire that was quickly extinguished by the fire department.

As of 9:35 p.m., power lines are still down in the roadway and San Bernardino County Fire is holding traffic in both directions awaiting the arrival of Highway Patrol units control traffic.

At 10:12 p.m., Edison had arrived on scene and began assessing the situation.

According to officials at the scene, a small residential area near the intersection of Jungfrau and Lausanne in Upper Lake Gregory have been affected. Edison is estimating power to be restored tomorrow by 2 p.m.
