From a press release issued by the A.L.A.:

A day of fun in Lake Arrowhead on the 4th of July

Lake Arrowhead, CA — The skies over Lake Arrowhead will once again show the spirit of patriotism starting with a Freedom Fly-Over at 5:30 p.m. and continuing with the Fireworks Spectacular Show at 9 p.m. on Wed., July 4, 2018 presented by the Arrowhead Lake Association.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., the USAF March ARB home of the 452nd Air Mobility Wing and C-17 Globemaster III, (#AFFlyover) will make a pass, followed by local Lake Arrowhead resident the Tumbling Bear in the red, white and blue Zlin 142c, three Warbirds from the Palm Springs Air Museum – North American P-51 Mustang “Bunny”, North American T-28B Trojan, Extra 300, F-1 Rocket, a breathtaking formation by the March ARB Beechcraft T-34 Mentor Club in a flight of three, and possibly a few other planes. Flights will take place between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Mr. Neale Perkins, a local entrepreneur and an accomplished pilot from Lake Arrowhead was excited about the fly-overs returning and decided to support the Palm Springs Air Museum and make the Warbirds flights happen. “I’ve never flown in a WWII P-51 Mustang and is one of those things I have always wanted to do.” So, at a later date, Mr. Perkins will be scheduled to fly and fulfill that long-time dream.

“Families from all around Southern California love coming up to Lake Arrowhead to get away to cooler temperatures, enjoy the gorgeous lake views and get some fresh air at above 5,000 feet. After all, it’s only 30 minutes off the 210 freeway on scenic Highway 18,” said Arrowhead Lake Association President Roberta Rindenow.

There will be something going on all day, and free concerts at the Lake Arrowhead Village with a Country Rock by Kaitlyn Marie Band from 1-3 p.m., followed by the The Perfect Cut (Tribute to Neil Diamond) at 6:30 p.m. Concerts are free, and they also offer reserved seating for a fee.

You can view ALA’s Fireworks Spectacular and flyovers from the Lake Arrowhead Village at no charge. There are areas where you may be able to reserve seating for a small fee. For more information, go to ala-ca.org, thelakearrowheadvillage.com, or ilovelakearrowhead.com.
