At 6:58 PM on March 11th, 2019, a call went into 911 reporting a single vehicle rollover accident 1.3 miles below Onyx Summit on State Route 38.

Fire Crews from Big Bear Fire Stations 282 and 283 in Big Bear City arrived on scene and found 3 patients. Due to a language barrier, it was unknown if the male passenger sustained any injuries, but a child properly restrained in a car seat was not injured. All three patients were transported to Bear Valley Community Hospital.

The black Ford Explorer was traveling along Highway 38 and for unknown reasons lost control and overturned coming to rest in the upbound lanes.
