Good Morning.
Scattered showers will continue today as we clear out from this last system. Possibly a few snow showers as well over the higher elevations.
The Atmospheric River has moved South now and will not be a factor over the next few days as several weak waves of energy move across SoCal. Over the next five days, several weak areas of Low pressure will slide South along the West Coast. These will be pretty cold so we will have a chance for snow showers through the period lowering to the 4000′ level at times. The first wave will arrive here late tonight through Friday morning. Snow levels for this system will start around the 7000′ elevation then lower to the 4500′ level by Friday morning. Accumulations of 1-3″ will be possible from 5-6k’, and above that 3-5″ below the 7000′ level all by Friday afternoon. Rainfall/ melted Snow amounts will be under an inch for most areas through Friday night. Gusty winds will develop later this morning in advance of this system along with the usual Fog and clouds.
..Saturday, we will have mostly clear skies with temperatures warming up a little. We will be under a Ridge of High pressure for a short time before the next weak system arrives.
..Sunday we will start the day with mostly clear skies. Then by the afternoon, we will see increasing clouds again as the next system to affect our area starts to move in. This will be another cold system with snow possible to the 4500′ level again. 1-3″ of snow will be possible in the Big Bear, Arrowbear, Green Valley Lake and Running Springs areas. Crestline and Arrowhead will be from 0-2″ of snow. This system, will not have a moisture feed from the South, so with limited moisture available
this won’t be a big weather maker. This storm will begin to clear out by Monday with another storm for Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. Then, it looks like on the long range models that we will have a break from the stormy pattern we have been in, through the last week of March.
