Lake Gregory Fishing Report

Trout fishing has been on fire at Lake Gregory. With multiple trout plants from private and cdfw stocks for recent Veterans day trout derby. An estimated 400-500 people showed up this year to compete for top prize of $1000 plus prizes donated by Cadillac Reels. This year’s 1st place winner Judith Palma landed a beautiful 24″ 5.65lb rainbow trout from the float tube which earned her a check for $1000. 2nd place winner Anthony Magno landed a 19.5″ rainbow trout weighing in at 2.78lbs which earned him a check for $500. 3rd place winner Jarrid Wilson landed a 19″ rainbow trout which weighed 1.86lbs and earned him a check for $250. 1st place junior division 18″ rainbow trout weighing in at 2.26lbs. 2nd place winner junior division MTA member Adrian Avalos landed a 16.75 rainbow trout weighing in at 1.64lbs. 3rd place junior division 16.5″ rainbow trout weighing in at 1.71lbs. Congrats to all the winners. And thanks to all that sponsored or donated.Trout fishing should be great for weeks to come. Fish are still holding deep. With the bite being best early morning or early evening. North and South shore points have been productive. Jigs, worms, spinners and power bait are still recommended.
