At 2:45 PM on Friday, September 7, the CHP received a call reporting that a trash truck had overturned on Highway 18 at the Holcomb Valley Road entrance to the dump. The trash truck was on the roadway and blocking lanes, with a tow truck ETA of three hours. A heavy duty tow truck was dispatched because the truck was a three- axle vehicle with a weight rating of 26,000 pounds.
No injuries were reported. The driver waived medical treatment.
At 3:08 PM, the CHP reported that traffic was able to pass, and therefore a SIG Alert was not issued.
