Target shooting restrictions extended for fire season

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — As Southern California heads deeper into the fire season, San Bernardino National Forest officials have extended target shooting restrictions, which were temporarily in place earlier this summer.

Only the following staffed shooting ranges operating under a special use permit will remain open to shooting:

· Arrowhead Fish & Game Conservation Club

· Big Bear Valley Sportsman’s Club

· Lytle Creek Firing Line

Hunting with a license during open season, as specified by the laws of the State of California, is allowed. And fire restrictions for campfires, stoves, smoking and welding remain in place from earlier this summer.

The Forest Order for these restrictions last through January 31, 2019. However, officials will be re-evaluating conditions as they change, prompting the termination or extension of the restriction on a different date.
