Forecast for Crestline, Twin Peaks, Lake Arrowhead and the San Bernardino Mountains.
Good Morning.
After a nice weekend, today we will begin a short heat wave that will bring local temperatures into the upper 80s to mid 90’s from Big Bear to Crestline. High pressure over the west will expand across the southland over the next two days bringing in the HOT weather to the Inland Valleys and Mountain regions.
Along with the high temperatures, low humidity is expected as well which will raise the Fire Danger levels to Critical in some areas so please be especially careful. Clear skies with light and variable winds will last through Wednesday.
Thursday we should begin to see some Tropical influence from the south that will bring a return of higher humidity, lower temperatures, and a chance for Thunderstorms. Depending on what path these storms take over the next couple of days will greatly affect the available moisture we have for the later part of the week.
Currently there are three systems forming to our South. Their expected path is to move Northwest along the Baja coastal areas which could bring periods of showers to Socal by Thursday through Saturday. Fingers crossed!
So the heat wave should be short lived with a cooling trend beginning Wednesday. San Bernardino can expect to see daytime highs Monday and Tuesday from 100-110* then slowly cooling into the upper 90s by the end of the work week.
With the heat returning to our area again, please remember that you and your pets need extra water and shade. Don’t leave your pets or kids in an unattended vehicle! That’s it for today. Have a good day and enjoy the great Mountain weather. Hector off to our West is now a CAT4 Hurricane and is expected to go just south of Hawaii. There are three more systems developing to our South as of this morning as mentioned above.
