Forecast for Crestline, Twin Peaks, Lake Arrowhead and the San Bernardino Mountains.
Good Morning.
***THE EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING IS STILL IN EFFECT FOR OUR AREA THROUGH TODAY @ 9PM.***
Today should be the last of the warmest days of this latest heat wave as High pressure now centered over SoCal will begin to weaken. Temperatures today, and through the weekend will still be very warm but will cool by a few degrees beginning tomorrow.
We will continue to have a 10-20% chance for pop-up Thunderstorms mostly in the Deserts, and the Eastern side of Big Bear today. This weekends weather will be very nice for the mountains with temps in the mid to upper 80s along with less humidity and mostly clear skies. We may see drift smoke across the area as a South West flow aloft will likely bring smoke from the Cranston and Ribbon Fires into our area at times.
Sunday afternoon as the area of High pressure relocates over Las Vegas, we will see an uptick in Monsoonal moisture that will bring an increase in Thunderstorm activity back into the local Mountains for Monday and Tuesday. Precipital Water (PWAT) levels will again increase across the area during that time frame increasing the chance for showers to accompany any T-Storms that do develop.
If you haven’t done your property clean up this is a good time to get that done as the fire activity that we have seen locally, and across the State is unparalleled. This is also a good time to get your evacuation kit together as this is again going to be a long Fire Season in California. RC
