Lake Arrowhead Fire Works are Postponed

ALA Fireworks Show is Postponed

Due to a mandate from the State of California and San Bernardino County, the ALA Fireworks Show is postponed. The ALA Board of Directors and the ALA staff are very disappointed that the show had to be postponed, but we are not alone. Fireworks shows in San Bernardino, Orange and Los Angeles Counties have all been postponed or canceled, including the fireworks show at Big Bear here on our mountain.

For those people who think the ALA could proceed regardless of County approval, please realize that without a fireworks permit, the contractor that the ALA hires to provide and launch fireworks will not do the show. The ALA had no option.

Another important factor that we all should consider is that the postponement of the fireworks show will cut back on the thousands of people that would have come up for the show which would increase the risk of spreading COVID-19 to our mountain community.

The rescheduling of the fireworks show is not determined at this time since it is dependent on the slowing of the COVID-19 pandemic. Potential shows on Labor Day or New Year’s Eve will be considered.

Even though the fireworks show is postponed, we are pleased to announce that the Freedom Fly Over show of special aircraft planned for our 4th of July program is still on starting at 5:15pm.

Once again, all of us at the ALA are disappointed to not have a fireworks show this weekend, but we still wish all our members and their guests a safe and happy 4th of July weekend on our wonderful Lake Arrowhead.
