Mountain Reporter Weekly Fishing Report By Jeff Cottini

Big Bear Lake:
With the cooler weather the trout bite has picked back up. Shore anglers have been hooking up along the north shore towards dam and in front of Red House. With reports of a few being caught by Observatory as well. Power bait and inflated night crawlers on long leaders with light line seems to be the ticket. Best times to fish would be in the early morning or early evening. In the last 3 weeks Big Bear lake has been stocked with 12,000lbs of rainbow trout for this weekends 15th annual Western Outdoor News Big Bear Lake Troutfest taking place October 5th-6th.
Green Valley Lake:
The bite has been good at GVL. Anglers have been having luck in the morning and early evening on both sides of dam and fisherman’s point. Mini jigs, nightcrawlers and trout worms have been working well. Green Valley Lake just received a fresh stock of 800lbs rainbow trout from Jess Ranch hatchery on Thursday October 3rd.
Arrowbear lake:
No Reports
Lake Gregory:
The cooler weather has definitely made the trout more active lately. Anglers have been doing well in baseball field cove and on the island. Trout cove has produced a few as well. Mini jigs and Power bait has been the ticket. Early morning or early evening is the best times to fish.
Silverwood lake:
Catfish and striper are still being caught off the marina docks on cut bait and nightcrawlers. Early morning is the best times to fish.
