Forecast for Crestline, Twin Peaks, Lake Arrowhead and the San Bernardino Mountains:
Good Morning.
Yesterday was a very warm day across the local mountain areas. Highs ranged from 82-90*. Fortunately we had good cooling overnight. Today will be another warm day however, we will begin to see some cooling beginning today, through Thursday, as a trailing Trough from a 540dm Low in the Gulf of Alaska passes through SoCal.
This will bring significant cooling for the area along with an increase in Coastal fog that may reach into the San Bernardino Valley by Wednesday morning. For Friday, and the weekend, warmer weather will return to SoCal as High pressure expands into the region from the South and East.
Temperatures today will run from the mid to upper 80s for the Crestline and Lake Arrowhead areas. Big Bear and the surrounding areas will see temperatures from 78-82*, and for San Bernardino, mid 90s today. Tomorrow temperatures will be around 4-8* cooler, and for Wednesday, highs are expected to be in the low to mid 70s locally.
Clear skies along with gusty winds at times through Thursday, can be expected. On the long range outlook, what will be the first Hurricane of the Eastern Pacific, Aletta, will develop and move North in the gulf of California by late in the weekend, or early next week. Aletta, will be a Tropical disturbance at best by the time it reaches the Northern end of the Gulf, bringing much higher PWAT levels along with instability to SoCal. For next Tuesday and Wednesday, the possibility of our first Summer Thunderstorms, for the local Deserts, and mountains areas are looking pretty good. As it looks this morning. That’s it for now.
With the increase in temperatures and low humidity levels, it’s time to begin thinking about elevated fire danger levels. Today the Fire Danger level is MODERATE to HIGH.

Temperatures around the area for Today and overnight:
Crestline, Twin Peaks, and Lake Arrowhead: 78-85*/50-55*
Running Springs, GVL, and Big Bear: 77-83*/42-50*
San Bernardino: 90-95*/60-65*
