Weekly Fishing Report with Jeff Cottini – 9/6/2019

This week’s fishing report is sponsored by Lake Gregory Recreation

The Mountain Reporter Fishing Report covers Big Bear Lake, Green Valley Lake, Arrowbear Lake, Lake Silverwood and Lake Gregory with a weekly report covering baits, fishing spots and other tips you will need to know to give you the best advantage for your fishing trip.

Local Lake Reports

Big Bear Lake:

The trout bite has been decent. With a few nice size trout being caught throughout the week. Shore anglers have been doing well in front of Red House and shoreline by the dam. With a few reports of some being caught along the south shore as well. Carolina rigs with long light line leaders with power bait or inflated nightcrawlers have been the ticket. Slip bobbers with nightcrawlers have also been working well. Early morning or early evening are the best times to fish.

Green Valley Lake:

Trout fishing has been great. Anglers did well through the weekend following the 1100 lb. stock they received last week. Hot spots are Fisherman’s Point and both sides of the dam. Mini jigs and Pink micetails have been working well. Early morning is the best time to fish.

Arrowbear Lake:

No Reports.

Lake Gregory:

Trout fishing is still slow. A few trout were caught in front of baseball field cove this past week. VFW Auxiliary is hosting a trout derby this weekend on September 7th. Should be expecting a small stock of rainbow trout for that. Early morning is your best time to fish.

Silverwood Lake:

Catfish and Striper fishing is still decent. Fishing off the marina docks in the early morning is your best bet. Cut baits and nightcrawlers is what’s working best.

Catch of the week

This weeks catch of the week is Mountain Top Anglers member Anthony Vasquez with a pair of nice rainbow trout caught at Big Bear Lake on Fatal bait mini jig.
