On Thursday, September 5th, the driver of a heavy-duty utility truck got very lucky when he walked away from his vehicle after over turning on Highway 18. Multiple calls went in to 911 reporting a solo-vehicle rollover just above the Mitsubishi Cement Plant on Highway 18. The driver was traveling down-bound, when his brakes started to smoke. The driver lost control and turned over into a turn out.
Medics from Station 8 – Lucerne Valley arrived on scene, where the driver declined medical treatment. California Highway Patrol was on scene conducting their investigation. The road remained open during the incident, but was closed temporarily while a heavy-duty tow truck recovered the vehicle.
