“I think in 10 years time, people won’t know what TED is, they’ll know what TEDx is…it’ll be this worldwide movement of humanity gathering in digital campfires around the world sharing its best stories, dreams, hopes and knowledge with each other – and it’s going to make the difference between the world – the future – being beautiful or being scary.” – Chris Anderson, TED Curator

What does Bigger Thinking mean to you? How have Entertainment and Technology shaped the future of Smaller Towns? When and how do people Think Bigger together? Let’s talk about these questions and lots of others at TEDxSkyforest. Our 12 speakers and exceptional host are brought together by love for smaller towns and passion for bigger thinking! Let’s talk about nature, resilience and growth this August! TEDxSkyforest is a long-term community project, anticipating the production to evolve year-to-year. Proposals for TEDxSkyforest 2020 are already being received and you too can nominate a speaker or idea! Simply email TEDxSkyforest.com.

Getting away to the mountains community is important to the TEDxSkyforest experience. The TEDxSkyforest Curation Team went above and beyond for their inaugural event by organizing more than half a dozen X+ Adventures, donation-based community events taking place the same weekend as our TEDxSkyforest Live Recording for TED.com. All members of the community, including visitors, are invited to participate in Nature Walks, Yoga, a Community BBQ or an array of special offerings from Cacao Tasting to a Dog-friendly “Yappy Hour”! Our X+ adventures happen at Switzer Park and Skyforest Playscape, both located in Skyforest, CA.

“TEDxSkyforest isn’t just about these 12 talks – it’s about ALL our volunteers. Together, we’ve redefined what is possible in the space between us in our community outside of work and family. We’ve created a heart-opening, thought-provoking show that won’t just disappear…it will become TEDxSkyforest 2020.” – Aminah Teachout, TEDxSkyforest Curator
