TODAY’S WEATHER DISCUSSION AND FORECAST:

Good Morning.
Trends: Warmer through Thursday. Heat Advisory from 11am Wednesday through 9pm Thursday. Friday through Sunday, Cooler weather as a Trough moves through the PAC-NW.
..High pressure will expand from the South and East today. The Center of the High will be on center over Nevada, Arizona and Utah by Thursday. This will bring in warmer temperatures and a HEAT ADVISORY for the San Bernardino Valley area as well as most of the lower elevations in the IE. Highs in the Valley may reach 105* by Thursday. The lower Desert and Palm Springs can expect to see temperatures reaching into the 112-116* range through Thursday. An EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING is in effect for that area through Thursday night.
..The area of high pressure will move West of SoCal by Friday as a Trough of Low pressure moves onshore to our North. As the Trough moves through, temperatures will cool through Sunday for our area. Temperatures will return to slightly below normal for that time period.
..Monday, High pressure will return to SoCal with a warm up once again for the first part of the work week, next week.
..While the temperatures have been warming up, so far the humidity levels have been staying higher than normal for this time of year. Although there have been humidity levels into the teens for brief periods, so far we have stayed out of the single digit levels in the local fire prone areas. There will be some changes to the long range outlook as a couple of Tropical Disturbances will pass by the West Coast in the latter half of the month. As this change takes place, we could pick up the Monsoon flow again locally. The Fire Danger levels remain HIGH, but I don’t see any EXTREME conditions in the near future. *RC
..As we head into the latter part of Summer and the Fall Season, the local Forest vegetation is drying out. Fuel moistures are below average now, and the Fire Danger levels are on the rise. Be sure to check Fire Regulations before camping to make sure of current Fire Regulations. Also I will be posting the Fire Danger levels on the WX Alerts page for a more in depth look at the local fire weather..(Website).

..On the main page of the website, www.lakegregoryweather.com I have added two live webcam views, one of Lake Gregory pointing North, and the other facing Southeast toward Waterman canyon. These are very helpful for the drive up and down the hill. If the camera view is gray, that means it’s foggy.

..Be sure to check out the other pages on the website for the Latest on El Nino, live webcams from around the area, live Radar, Satellite loops, Traffic conditions, along with live Weather conditions, and a live view of Lake Gregory from my weather station at the South side of the lake. Have a good Day! *RC
