Fire Season is Now Year-Round, Town Meetings Announced

A typical wildfire season in California might begin in mid-summer and run through early autumn. Not this year; maybe not anymore. There is no fire season anymore. Fires happen in California year round. To help get ready and be prepared, first responders are holding three informational sessions to help and answer questions.

First responders welcome you to join them at three different meeting places and times to learn what’s new this fire season. these meetings are being hosted by the Mountain Rim Fire Safe Council. you can find out more information about this organization by visiting their Facebook page here:

Smokey Bear, as well as representatives from US Forest Service, CAL FIRE, San Bernardino County Fire, Running Springs Fire, Arrow Bear Fire, California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Sheriff, Sothern California Edison, National Forest Foundation will be available to answer any questions you have in order to be better prepared. Light refreshments will be available, as well as raffles and prizes.

August 14th – 6:00 p.m. – Hootman Center, Running Springs

August 28th – 6:30 p.m. – Mountain Communities Senior/Community Center, Twin Peaks

October 9th – 6:00 p.m. – Lake Gregory Education/Community Center, Crestline
