The Mountain Reporter got a sky-high look inside the new community event that the Crestline Kooks Paragliding Group has put together. Locals and travelers alike can enjoy watching paragliders soaring over the San Bernardino mountains into the beautiful sunset.

This gathering takes place on Sunday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to sundown at the Crestline Soaring Society Glider Launch in the San Bernardino National Forest. The spectacle is free to the attend. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs, their own food and drinks to enjoy a night of live entertainment; paragliders soaring from above, as well as diverse performers every Sunday evening. July 14th marked the launching of this gathering, and they are hoping to continue this on each Sunday and grow into a consistent community event.

All of the paragliders involved have the proper permits, training, and licensing to participate in this sport, in order to ensure the safety of themselves and others. Various local performers donate their time and effort to entertain attendees. On this particular day, local band “Three as One” played rock and roll throughout the night. The show put on by the Crestline Kooks is a great event for everyone to experience, especially for those who want to learn about this craft and enjoy the beautiful sunset amongst the clouds!
