At 1:31 p.m. on May 29th, 2018, emergency personnel were dispatched to a possible brush fire on Highway 38 near Barton Flats.
San Bernardino County Fire and US Forestry along with CalFire response teams were enroute.
The exact location was mile marker 28 on highway 38 near San Gorgonio campground. When units arrived at 1:42 p.m., there was a 5×5 spot smoldering. All units responding except for the units onscene have been cancelled. They’re expecting to have the fire out and mopped up in 30 mins.
The cause of the fire is believed to be dragging chains.
