At 9:18 pm multiple emergency units responded to reports of a burning shed on Valley View Drive in Crestline. Residents were able to extinguish the fire with a garden hose by the time units arrived on scene.
The cause of the fire is still unknown and under investigation. Fire engine ME25 remained on the scene to clear out additional burning hazards. Responders had to cut a 4×4 hole in the floor of the shed to clear out excess brush that had accumulated underneath.
This serves as an important reminder to clear out burning fuels such as dry pine needles and debris on a regular basis before a more dire situation occurs.
