Vehicle Occupants Airlifted After Major Crash on Highway 38

San Bernardino National Forest, Calif. – On June 20, 2019, at approximately 6:40 pm, San Bernardino Area units responded to a solo vehicle traffic collision involving a 1998 Green Ford Explorer on Highway 38, approximately 1.5 miles east of Bryant Street in the San Bernardino National Forest.

For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle traveled over solid double yellow lines. Jovanni Delvillar (Male, 22, Rialto) lost control of the vehicle, struck a wood and metal guardrail, and traveled down an embankment.

The driver and Esteban Manuel Cruz (Male, 21, Rialto) were transported by ambulance with major to moderate injuries to Loma Linda University Medical Center. Mauricio Delvillar (Male, 20, Rialto) was transported with major injuries to Loma Linda University Medical Center by helicopter.

The exact nature of the injuries sustained are unknown at this time in this traffic collision is still under investigation by the California Highway Patrol. There were no fatalities reported in this accident.
