TODAY’S WEATHER DISCUSSION AND FORECAST:

Good Morning. Welcome Summer at 8:54am this morning!
This morning we have fog below the 5500-6000′ level, then mostly clear skies above that. Big Bear and Running Springs are both clear as of 7am.
..Today a Trough will pass over SoCal increasing the depth of the Marine layer with some drizzle along the Rim and the South facing slopes. Away from the Rim, on the North side of Arrowhead, skies should be mostly clear today. Gusty South West winds will continue today, the NWS has issued a WIND ADVISORY that will remain in effect until 9pm tonight.
..The area of Low pressure that has brought this cool weather to the area as well as a deep Marine layer will move East early tomorrow morning. As the Low moves out toward the East, North East winds will follow behind the departing system. These winds will clear out the Moisture locally and a drier air mass will move over the local area. Temperatures will warm back up by a few degrees for Saturday through Monday.
..Tuesday through Thursday, cooler temperatures will return as another area of Low pressure slides South along the West Coast of California.
..Overall, we will continue to be in a weak Troughing pattern with Troughs of Low pressure alternating with weak Ridging over SoCal through the end of the month. For the start of July, a Tropical system will move up the Coast from Baja to welcome in the Monsoon Season in the Southwest. RC
..As we head into Fire Season please use caution in all mountain areas. Also I will begin today posting the Fire Danger levels on the bottom of this page also check the wx alerts page for an in depth look at the local fire weather..(Website)
..Have a good day and enjoy the great Mountain weather.*RC

..On the main page of the website, www.lakegregoryweather.com I have added two live webcam views, one of Lake Gregory pointing North, and the other facing Southeast toward Waterman canyon. These are very helpful for the drive up and down the hill. If the camera view is gray, that means it’s foggy.

..Be sure to check out the other pages on the website for the Latest on El Nino, live webcams from around the area, live Radar, Satellite loops, Traffic conditions, along with live Weather conditions, and a live view of Lake Gregory from my weather station at the South side of the lake.
