The Annual Community Wood Chipping event presented by our local firefighters has commenced!

This is an annual event that allows home owners to get rid of their hazardous trees and vegetation around their house, helping the community to be fire safe this season. This has been an annual event for our mountain communities since 2007, and is free of charge. Locals can bring any green waste up to 10 feet long and 15 inches in diameter. Once the green waste is processed, the chips are disposed of by the firefighters, or the owners can opt to receive the chips back.

This event is not limited to one area; countless towns across the San Bernardino Mountains can take advantage of this amazing opportunity. The Wood Chipping event covers Crestline, Lake Arrowhead, Fawnskin, Lytle Creek, Green Valley, Mt. Baldy and Wrightwood. Not only do these firefighters keep a watchful eye over the safety of our community, but they hold events such as these to assist homeowners in brush and shrub abatement, helping locals to prevent future forest fires. For city dates and more information about this community event, please check with your local fire department, or go to the San Bernardino County Fire Facebook page.
