TODAY’S WEATHER DISCUSSION AND FORECAST:

Good Morning.
..Today we will see a couple changes in our weather locally. The Marine layer is at around the 2000′ level this morning with clear skies above the 2500′ elevation.
An area of Low pressure centered to our North will begin to affect our weather later today. A Trough off of that Low will move into the SoCal region bringing in colder air and a deeper Marine layer for Tonight and Friday. SW winds will become gusty especially this afternoon through tomorrow morning for the local area. The NWS has issued a Wind Advisory for our area from 4pm today through 7am Friday morning for our area.
..Temperatures are expected to be from 10-15* cooler today and tomorrow with highs in the 60s and low 70s for the mountains. Overnight lows will dip into the 40s and even possibly to the upper 30s at the higher elevations. The Marine layer will deepen to around the 6000′ level tomorrow morning with a chance for drizzle and or a shower, from the Coast to the local area.
..Saturday as the Trough departs the area, NE winds will pick up clearing out the Marine layer and a warming trend will begin. By Sunday, temperatures should be back into the mid to upper 70s as we begin a pattern change to a more Summer like weather pattern for SoCal.
..Long range outlook, a Tropical disturbance will move North from off of Baja California around the middle of next week. This will likely push moisture into the AZ and southern Desert region on the Westerlies as it moves to our West. Depending on how this plays out we may see a chance for the Big Bear area to get there first Thunder storms of the Monsoon Season. RC
..As we head into Fire Season please use caution in all mountain areas. Also I will begin today posting the Fire Danger levels on the bottom of this page also check the wx alerts page for an in depth look at the local fire weather..(Website)
..Have a good day and enjoy the great Mountain weather.*RC

..On the main page of the website, www.lakegregoryweather.com I have added two live webcam views, one of Lake Gregory pointing North, and the other facing Southeast toward Waterman canyon. These are very helpful for the drive up and down the hill. If the camera view is gray, that means it’s foggy.

..Be sure to check out the other pages on the website for the Latest on El Nino, live webcams from around the area, live Radar, Satellite loops, Traffic conditions, along with live Weather conditions, and a live view of Lake Gregory from my weather station at the South side of the lake. Have a good Day! *RC
