TODAY’S WEATHER DISCUSSION AND FORECAST:

Good Morning.
..Friday, looks like another great day in the mountains!
..This morning the Marine layer is running around 1200’AGL (Above ground level) with clear skies above that. From Point conception to Baja Ca, there is fog along the coastal strip. This will deepen tomorrow morning as a medium length Trough passes through the West. Sw winds will pick up as well becoming gusty by late morning. The marine layer will deepen so fog may impact the morning drive on the local Hwys.
..By Saturday late afternoon, behind the departing Trough, a Ridge of High pressure will build into the West. This will bring in a potential for the warmest temperatures so far this year with the Desert areas really warming up. This will last through the middle of the work week before another change moves into the area. There is one feature I see this morning that may change the forecast for the Monday through Wednesday Forecast, that is an area of Low pressure that will likely move in from the Baja California region. This will bear watching as we draw closer to that time period. More on that later. For the end of the work week as it now looks, another long wave Trough will move over the Western Coastal region returning us to cooler weather and more June gloom.
..On the Tropical weather, currently there are no Tropical systems in the Atlantic, Gulf Region, or to our South. the local FIRE DANGER levels will be coming up in the week ahead so please be careful with BBQs and other fire related items. Sunday and early Monday we will have a brief period of offshore winds locally.

..As temperatures rise in the weeks ahead, take extra precautions with your outdoor friends. Water and shade will be paramount for them soon. Thank you for joining me at lakegregoryweather.com
