TODAY’S WEATHER DISCUSSION AND FORECAST:

Good Morning.
Today we will start the day with clear skies. A short wave Trough will move through the area later today which will bring some clouds to the area, and a strengthening onshore flow. A Surface Low is offshore currently and will move through to our South today helping to reinforce the short wave with moisture. Low clouds and fog will develop later this afternoon along the Coastal areas moving Inland by tonight.
..SW winds will pick up across the area tonight a quick moving area of Low pressure now to North will bring rain and higher elevation snow Sunday into early Monday morning. Rain will begin Sunday morning or early afternoon with the snow levels at or about 7500′. Then as the center of the cold core Low moves through around midnight Sunday night, the snow levels will lower to between 5500′-6300′. 1-3″ of snow is expected for the GVL, Big Bear, Twin Peaks, and Running Springs areas. Rainfall amounts for the lower elevations will run from .50-.75″ except in the upslope areas due to Orographic lift where .75-1.25″ will be possible.
..All of this will move out by Monday early afternoon when we will begin a warm up with mostly clear skies through the work week ahead.
..Have a safe Holiday weekend. We will have a variety of weather over the four day weekend so plan accordingly. *RC
..On the main page of the website, www.lakegregoryweather.com I have added two live webcam views, one of Lake Gregory pointing North, and the other facing Southeast toward Waterman canyon. These are very helpful for the drive up and down the hill. If the camera view is gray, that means it’s foggy.
..That’s it for today. Thank you for joining me @ lakegregoryweather.com
..Be sure to check out the other pages on the website for live webcams from around the area, live Radar, Satellite loops, Traffic conditions, along with live Weather conditions, and a live view of Lake Gregory from my weather station at the South side of the lake. Have a good Day! *RC
